We run a range of clinics. For an appointment or further details, please call either of the surgeries.
This clinic is run by the midwives. If you become pregnant, you will be given a ‘booking appointment’ at which the midwife will ask you a few questions and carry out some general health checks. You will be seen regularly throughout your pregnancy either at the practice or at the local hospital, or both.
Minor operations can be done in our treatment room. Please discuss this with your doctor who will then arrange for you to be given an appointment.
Led by our nursing team, this clinic offers advice and general health check-ups to patients diagnosed with diabetes.
Asthma sufferers can make an appointment for advice and support from our nurses who specialise in asthma care.
All new babies are invited for regular check-ups from six weeks old.
Our nursing staff can also advise and support patients keen to loose weight and advise on diet and lifestyle changes etc.
The nursing staff run clinics that monitor those patients who are stable on medication, with such conditions as Heart Disease.
If a GP or another member of our health care team believes you need hospital treatment or specialist care elsewhere, they will ask you where and when you would like to go.
If you would prefer to have some time to think before deciding where and when to have treatment, you will be offered the option of calling the practice secretary later and she will then send your referral letter to the relevant hospital then.

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required. There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.

WHY DO WE CHARGE FOR SOME SERVICES?
The NHS provides most Healthcare to most people free of charge but there are exceptions. It is important to understand that Doctors are not employed by the NHS, that they are self-employed, and that they have to cover costs (staff, premises, heating, lighting etc) in the same way as any other small business.
The NHS pays the Doctors for specific NHS work but not for the non NHS work and the fees help to cover these costs. Time spent completing forms, going through records and preparing reports takes time. Doctors have a heavy workload and paperwork takes up an ever increasing amount of time. Giving inaccurate information on a report can have serious consequences and as such the Doctor must spend valuable time going through a patients record to complete even the most simplest of forms.
