MAY 2019:

‘Our practice is collaborating with NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) which is

providing NHS numbers for those patients that may be suitable for electronic repeat

dispensing prescriptions. The information is obtained from NHS prescriptions submitted to

the NHSBSA. A member of our clinical team will contact these patients soon to explain the

benefits of this service.’

Withdrawal of Ear Syringing Service

January 2018

We have  been forced to look at the services we provide and prioritise them in order of clinical necessity.  As widely reported in the media, General Practice is currently working in times of unprecedented pressure.

We have limited resources available and understand that any change to services will be difficult for the patients affected. As is common practice in other areas, a difficult decision has been made to withdraw the Ear Syringing service.

A self help guide is available from reception.

Target Staff Training

All practices in the SHIP Cluster, Southampton City, Hampshire, Isle Of Wight and Portsmouth must undertake compulsory training days each year.

The aim of this is to provide practices with protected time for co-ordinated, relevant and focused, quality education programmes for all staff  from GP's to reception staff.

The training days will usually occur every 3 months and will involve the practice closing from 12.00p.m. on the day of training and remaining closed until the following morning.

Patients who need to see a doctor urgently whilst the surgery is closed will have access to the Out of Hours Services during this time. Please Telephone the Out of Hours Service on telephone number: 111. .
